Made in France
become a chair maker
Today in France, 80% of our furniture is imported. Whole ships from China supply large well-known brands. The ecological impact of this situation is considerable, but so too is the social impact. The number of employees in the sector has halved over the past 10 years.
It is in this context that the French Chair was created in 2017, with an ambitious objective: to safeguard and defend French know-how in furniture manufacturing.
To maintain French manufacturing that is more threatened than ever, we have therefore decided to become manufacturers by investing directly in one of the oldest chair manufacturers.
Today, we are proud to present our unique collection of chairs 100% made in our factory.
100 years of expertise
Our manufacture in Aube
A stone's throw from Colombey-Les-Deux-Eglises, our factory was founded over 100 years ago. Our main building was even built by Gustave Eiffel in person!
While we have the most recent 3D machines to make complex chairs, all intermediate and finishing actions are carried out by hand, perpetuating the tradition and the sense of movement for an exceptional rendering of our products.
Artistic direction
Margaux Keller
After 5 years of design studies at the ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres school and then at the Boulle school, she trained on the benches of the Philippe Starck agency, alongside Eugeni Quitllet.
Margaux Keller is a designer who is among those who believe that today design is no longer confined to a binary system of "functionality & aesthetics" but that there is a third dimension: emotion.
Her work is often described as feminine and sensitive, which reflects her need to make people smile and work on collective memory, like a Proust madeleine.
